Apologies, Joan and Jen if I somehow missed the thread, but in most forums there is a 'meet the peeps' area where you can see a little about the members you discuss things with.

If I have over-stepped. PLEASE delete me. If not, I'll pop back in a bit and hopefully learn about you and your other members. This is a very ambitious project. Kudos ladies!

Well, I'm kinda new at the Forum thing too, I just don't have the time, but Joan and Jen are very special friends so this one I'll take the time.  My name is Annie and I recognize most of the names in here, so hello everyone.  Anyone that knows who I am, I'm the crazy gal that created Romance Treasure.  I just love to read romance books and I like every other woman appreciate most highly the guys on the covers.  Of course I have my favs and John is one for sure, well he's really probably top on my ahhhhhh list.

Joan, Jen, you've done a wonderful job with your site and I'm glad it's back up and running.  My compliments to you both.

Hugs to ya
Annie

No problem!  Start threads, that's what the forum is here for! Cheesy

As for me, I'm an artsy nerd gal.  Live in Michigan, have my entire life, and boy is it cold this year! XD

I like to draw, paint, sculpt... you name it, I just love art.  Shameless publicity:  www.forever-dreams.net .  As you can see my art site sadly hasn't been redone as of yet.  Just haven't had the time.  I'll be starting college in the spring, so gearing up for school and get my associates degree in web development! Cheesy

I also love reading and writing.  Reading, I'm into romance and fantasy.  Yes, I'm a mush ball, what can I say?  Great epics, drama, angst, humor... love it all.  That's how I came to like John, with him being on so many covers.  What's not to like? Wink  It is easy to picture him as the hero of a novel.  When it comes to writing it's more private works than anything.  I don't think I'm versed enough to be an author. ^^

I'm married to my high school sweet heart, Rob, for ten years this August.  We have to wonderful kids, Alex (9) and Cassie (4).

And that's about it!  I'll share more if you do! Wink

Thanks Annie and Lainey! ^^ We're glad to have you both here.

I am a Christian homemaker and have been married for going on 35 years this May 17 to my high school sweetheart Roy and we have 4 grown children, Chris, Jennifer (who does this site with me), Jason and Corey. I met my husband in art class, we both love art so is not surprising that our daughter also loves art and we are both very proud of her! Jen, as she has mentioned, has two children, Cassie and Alex and my son Chris has seven... yes seven, Kelsey, Felicia, Brandon, Megan, Brianna, Zachery and Conner, so I am a Grandmother of nine. I was a big Bobby Sherman fan in my teens and must admit, I still am. I love the old tv shows Here Come the Brides, Beauty and the Beast and Dark Shadows and the newer just canceled (I am still upset with CBS over it) tv show Moonlight. I also am a big fan of Lost. Being an avid reader of romance books, of course, that is how I came to be a John DeSalvo fan. He is the hero of my romance books and I truly came to admire him not only for his handsome good looks but for who he is inside. I liked what I read about him from others and I think he is someone who young people can look up to and admire. I admit, much to my embarrassment Embarrassed, that I can be a bit shy but once you get to know me, I can talk your ear off, lol.  Cheesy I love making new friends and treasure every one I have. Well, that is about all there is to know about me, not very exciting, but there it is, lol.  Grin

Nice to 'meet' you Jennifer and Annie, Joan I 'sorta kinda' knew from a different forum, but it is still nice to have the introduction in a less overwhelming, uncluttered forum.

I'm a southern Ontario housewife married almost 19 years (gulp, where's the time go) with a daughter who just turned 18 and a son racing toward 17--along with 3 big dogs and a cranky geriatric cat. I'm a bookkeeper for our own hvac business along with a couple other local places, a literacy volunteer at our local public school (I love helping the little ones finally 'see' words) an avid romance reader, and a romance writer in my spare time. Whatever that is. lol.

Although some of the things I've written are quite 'sexy', I am very glad to find a forum where ROMANCE is the focus, because after bouncing around the e-book and online world, it is very easy to fear that romance that depicts a relationship between two loving individuals is going out of style with all the erotica cropping up out there.

I look forward to getting to kmow you all better. Thanks again to Joan for the heads up!

Nice to meet you Lainey,

I'm not one to usually do the forum thing but this one seems really down to earth and I like Joan and Jen bunches, so here I am.  I guess in the first post I really didn't tell much about me.  So here goes, I'm a bookkeeper full times job and I do webdesign and graphics on the side.  Crazy gal I am, two grown boys and 2 grandkids and another one on the way.  Lord I tried to tell those boys what would happen when they did that but they didn't listen.  LOL, oh well, I love em.  And I love to read romance books and I just love some of the models like we all do.  I'm laid back, easy going kinda gal, love life and livin in Norfolk now, just moved from South Carolina, and I do miss the south.  It's COLD!!!!! up here...lol

Congratulations on the new grandchild Annie! Yeah, I tried telling my oldest son the same thing but he didn't listen either. He has seven children, 4 girls and 3 boys ranging in age from 0 - 14. I think the big family though, has scared his oldest daughter away from wanting kids, lol as she told me in no uncertain terms that she did not want kids. As for the cold there in Norfolk, I bet Michigan can top it, lol. It has been very cold here, getting down to zero at night some nights. Unbelievable what a cold winter it has been this year. Has me thinking I would like to move where the weather is warmer.  Smiley
There is nothing wrong with sexy in a romance book, but I totally agree with you about some of the erotic romances out there Lainie. I think you are right that romances between two loving individuals seems to be going out of style. I see a lot of erotic romances that to me I just can not see how they can even call them romances. I have to ask, how do your dogs get along with your cat?  I happen to have a very cranky geriatric cat myself, lol. He is 13 years old and very spoiled. We also have a small dog who has the most stubborn nature of any animal I have ever known. Tell her to go lay down and she will sit and look at you like a rebellious child with a I don't think so attitude, lol. My cat hates it when the dog gets into his food. The last time she did, the cat bit her on her backside and the dog in turn bit him on the ear. Most of the time they get along just fine, even lay together but when the dog does something the cat doesn't like, she gets bit on her backside every time, lol.

Wow Lainey, you certainly are busy! ^^ I'm still hoping I'll be able to keep a handle on my college studies.  It's been ten years this may since I graduated high school, though I have done my own private studying.  That's how I learned to build this, and a few other websites. ^^ Learning off the internet.

Grats on the new grandbaby Annie. Cheesy  As for me, there be no more babies coming out of this momma.  Grin  I've got two wonderful kids that I love to pieces, my family is the right size, I don't see or feel the need to expand. ^^'  Especially with me finally beginning a career!  Cassie is in pre-school, and by the time I graduate for my degree She'll be in school full time.  I just hope I can find a job once I graduate. ^^

And yes it has been cold!  Michigan has turned into a freezer.  I'm seriously debating if I want to stay here in the future. XD  I love being near my family, but winter gets so depressing at times.  That and I hate getting a runny nose every time I go outside!  The kids being cooped up in the house for so long isn't healthy, nor any fun.  With these below zero temperatures and wind chill I can't send them out in the snow to play. Sad  If the economy ever recovers we may consider moving south, where winter is not so frigid. ^^

Romance certainly is our focus here.  I'm not into the erotica novels to be honest, not where they are just for the sake of sex.  Where's love?  Has it become a rarity?  I hope not.  Every fairy tale I love is based on a romance and growing love of two people.  It is beautiful to watch watch/read as it unfolds.  My favorite part, the first kiss.  Always the best! ^^

Hope you are all having a great week!

Hi My name is Melissa and I have been a huge John fan sense 2001.
I've heard a lot of good things about him.
I've heard about how nice of a guy he is.
I would love to meet him some day but I know I would be nervous.
I probably wouldn't know what to say.
I am also a member of his Member's Club and I think it's a great site.
I won his first member's only auction.

Yes I loved it.
 It's really a great calendar.
I'm glad to know that he's such a nice person.
Did he go to the convention this year?
I heard he would be but I don't know if he did or not.

I'm not 100% sure that he did or not, the last time I spoke to him a couple weeks ago he was not going to go, his job was going to keep him away.  But as I said I'm not 100% sure.  We mailed a bit the past couple days but I don't impose on him with too many questions, we talk about other things.  He's not doing covers anymore and really trying to just have a life and that I can understand.

I had a feeling he didn't do covers anymore.
I think that's great that you guys talk.
That is very nice of him.
I hope his Beyond the Glory movie gets made.
It sounds like it would be a good movie.
I wish him success in all he does.

Hello Melissa! Welcome to our forum! We are always happy to become acquainted with another fan of John's.  Congratulations on winning John's auction too. I have never met John either and I know I would be extremely nervous to meet him also. I shall miss John being on the romance covers. I hope that his movie Beyond the Glory comes to the big screen too and that it is a big success for him. Nice to have you drop by Annie and thanks for posting. I am sorry I missed being on yesterday when you were both here. Usually I check in everyday but got busy yesterday and didn't get on all day. Is always a wonderful surprise when I do get on and get to welcome new members and good friends.
